Yates 390FRA Arc Flash Rated Lineman’s Rope Access Harness
The Yates 390FRA Arc Flash Rated Lineman’s Rope Access Harness is purpose-built for transmission tower workers, utility linemen, and other electrical professionals using rope-access techniques in environments where arc-flash hazards are present. Developed with input from rope-access professionals and electric utilities, the 390FRA combines full-body fall protection, work positioning, and rope-access functionality in a specialized arc-rated harness.
The harness is constructed with specialized webbing that combines a Nomex® exterior for comfort and durability with Kevlar® reinforcement for strength. A wide anatomical waist pad provides support during extended periods at height, while the U-shaped rear shoulder design helps distribute loads across the upper back. Adjustable camlock and COBRA® buckles accommodate clothing changes and simplify donning and adjustment.
Multiple attachment points at the waist, hips, chest, lumbar back, and dorsal back provide flexibility for rope access, positioning, and fall-arrest systems. The 390FRA is also recommended for electric-utility helicopter external-load short-haul operations and includes modular work and tool-pouch attachment points to configure the harness around the user's job requirements.

Application Notice
The 390FRA is designed and recommended for work environments with an arc-flash hazard. For routine work in non-energized environments, we recommend the standard Yates 390RTR harness. The nylon webbing used in the 390RTR provides greater durability and abrasion resistance for everyday use than the specialized Nomex®/Kevlar® webbing used in the arc-flash-rated 390FRA.
The 390FRA includes a breathable Mesh/Cordura® duffel bag featuring a heavy-duty mesh upper section to promote ventilation during equipment storage.
