Sterling SearchLite 7.5 mm Fire Search Rope – 50', 200', 220', or 600'

Originally developed for the Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY), Sterling SearchLite is a purpose-built 7.5 mm fire search rope designed for search operations in dark, smoke-filled, and low-visibility environments. Reflective fibers incorporated into the sheath increase visibility when illuminated, helping firefighters locate, identify, and follow the search line during operations.

SearchLite uses a nylon sheath over a blended nylon and Technora® core. The blended core enhances strength while reducing the potential for failure caused by melting when the rope is exposed to elevated temperatures. Sterling developed the construction specifically for the demanding conditions encountered during firefighter search operations.

The compact 7.5 mm diameter keeps the search line lightweight and easy to deploy while providing a minimum breaking strength of 3,012 pounds (13.4 kN). SearchLite weighs approximately 2.2 pounds per 100 feet and is manufactured in the USA.

Vertex Outfitters offers SearchLite in 50-foot, 200-foot, 220-foot, and 600-foot lengths. The 220-foot configuration is also available with a sewn double-action snap swivel for a ready-to-connect search-line configuration.
