SMC Origin 5 Rigging Plate
The SMC Origin 5 is a compact rigging plate designed to organize multiple connections within technical rescue, rope-access, and rigging systems. As SMC’s lightest Origin rigging plate, it provides five connection openings while maintaining a compact profile for systems where a larger plate is unnecessary.
The five large openings provide ample room for compatible locking carabiners and allow multiple system components to be organized around a common master point. Its compact configuration makes the Origin 5 particularly useful for litter bridles, anchor systems, hauling systems, and other applications requiring organized connection management.
The Origin 5 is manufactured in the USA and carries a minimum breaking strength of 36 kN and a working load limit of 9 kN. The plate is marked NFPA 2500 (1983), 2022 Edition, General Use.
