SMC FLEX Pad – Configurable Rope & Tree Protection

Originally designed by SMC for the demanding technical fire rescue market, the FLEX Pad provides a highly configurable solution for rope management and protection. Developed as an alternative to traditional canvas rope protectors, its flexible design allows the pad to conform around trees, structural members, edges, and other surfaces where ropes require protection or controlled routing.

The FLEX Pad can be used to protect moving or stationary ropes from contact with abrasive surfaces while also helping protect trees and other anchor surfaces from rope abrasion. Its flexible construction allows it to wrap around irregular shapes, while the multiple openings provide numerous options for positioning ropes and configuring the pad for the application.

The FLEX can be used as a stand-alone rope protector or connected with additional FLEX Pads using SMC FLEX Clips to create a larger or more complex rope-management system. Multiple ropes can be separated and routed across the pad, making it useful for arborist climbing, technical rescue, rope access, and other rope-based operations.
