Petzl ZIGZAG® and ZIGZAG® PLUS

The Petzl ZIGZAG® and ZIGZAG® PLUS mechanical Prusiks are designed for professional tree care, allowing arborists to move efficiently through the canopy using techniques similar to a classic Prusik pulley system. The friction chain provides smooth, precise movement, while the pulley mounted on sealed ball bearings allows slack to be taken up easily and efficiently.

Both models can be used on doubled rope systems or on a single rope when paired with the Petzl CHICANE auxiliary brake, providing versatility for different climbing and work-positioning techniques. The release lever allows precise control during movement and descent, while steel construction and curved, separated side plates provide durability for demanding professional use.

The ZIGZAG® features a fixed lower attachment point designed to maintain proper device alignment. The ZIGZAG® PLUS adds a high-efficiency swivel at the lower attachment point, helping maintain stable positioning while allowing optimal rope glide as the climber changes direction in the canopy. Both models are compatible with 11.5 to 13 mm EN 1891 Type A low-stretch kernmantle ropes and have a maximum working load of 140 kg (309 lb).
