FrenchCreek 199D Controlled Descent Device
The FrenchCreek 199D Controlled Descent Device is designed for controlled descent, suspended work positioning, emergency self-evacuation, and rescue/recovery applications.
Simple in design, the 199D uses a lever-operated friction system to control movement on the rope. As the lever is moved, friction decreases to allow descent. An automatic locking mechanism stops descent if the user releases the control or squeezes it during a panic situation.
The device can also be inverted to lower another individual during rescue operations. The 199D is designed for use on a single 7/16-inch kernmantle rope and is constructed with high-strength aluminum and zinc-plated alloy-steel components.
