DMM Nomad Work Positioning Lanyard System
The DMM Nomad is a professional friction-hitch-based work positioning lanyard system developed for arborists and other work-at-height professionals who require smooth adjustment, dependable positioning, and multiple configuration options. Developed in collaboration with Treemagineers, the system combines purpose-designed rope and hitch cordage with DMM hardware for consistent performance in demanding environments.
The Nomad is available in two rope diameters and four high-visibility colors. The 12.8 mm rope provides a larger gripping surface for cold or wet conditions and increased cut resistance, while the lighter 11.8 mm option reduces weight for warmer and drier working conditions. Both use a 24-strand polyester cover double-braid construction with a nylon core for grip and abrasion resistance.
A DMM TAP 2 Triple Attachment Pulley helps advance the friction hitch with minimal sit-back and provides additional attachment points for more complex work-positioning configurations. The system includes a DMM Ultra O Locksafe connector at the pulley and a Fidus 8.5 mm eye-to-eye hitch cord. All components are replaceable to help extend the service life of the system.
In addition to work positioning and restraint, the Nomad is certified for use as an anchor assembly in rescue applications involving loads of up to two persons. It is not designed for fall arrest.
