3M DBI-SALA Confined Space Portable Side Entry System
The 3M DBI-SALA Portable Side Entry System is designed for confined-space entry, retrieval, and rescue operations involving horizontal access points such as tanks, vessels, and other structures where traditional overhead tripod or davit placement is impractical. The system mounts at the manway and provides a controlled support structure for positioning compatible winches and self-retracting lifelines.
The system includes an adjustable external tank collar, extendable side-entry arm, and quick-mount winch/SRL bracket. Its adaptable configuration accommodates a wide variety of manway designs and surrounding structures, making it particularly useful for industrial tanks, processing vessels, utility infrastructure, manufacturing facilities, and other horizontal-entry confined spaces.
The lightweight aluminum arm extends up to 6 feet and provides an adjustable working height from approximately 3.2 to 4.4 feet. A built-in pulley routes the lifeline through the system, while the rotating and adjustable mechanical-device base allows compatible retrieval equipment to be positioned for the specific entry configuration.
The portable design allows the system to be installed and dismantled using standard tools without requiring a permanently installed overhead structure. It can be used with the external adjustable tank collar or compatible permanently mounted bases. Winches and self-retracting lifelines are sold separately.
