Allegro 33" Manhole Guard Rail

The Allegro 33" Manhole Guard Rail provides a high-visibility temporary safety barrier around open manholes and confined-space entry points. Designed for utility, wastewater, public works, industrial, construction, and rescue operations, the guard rail creates a protected 33" x 33" work area while maintaining controlled access for personnel entering or exiting the confined space.

Constructed from strong 1-inch diameter, 0.078-gauge tubular steel, the guard rail features a durable safety-yellow powder-coated finish for corrosion resistance and increased visibility. The one-piece design requires no tools for setup, locks securely in the open position, and incorporates a support arm for additional stability.

Two hooking chains provide controlled entry and exit while helping maintain the protective barrier around the opening. Two welded marker flags further increase visibility, and the frame can accommodate additional signs, flags, or lights when required by the work environment.

For transport and storage, the guard rail collapses to approximately 44" L x 32" W x 4" H. The 9401 model is also compatible with Allegro guard rail tents, umbrellas, and the optional 9401-10 equipment winch, allowing it to become part of a more complete confined-space work system. The optional winch is intended for raising and lowering equipment and is not a personnel-retrieval device.
