8 mm PMI® Dura-Shield Explorer Rope
The 8 mm PMI® Dura-Shield Explorer Rope is a lightweight, abrasion-resistant static rope designed for demanding caving, canyoneering, confined-space, and technical rope applications. Its compact 8 mm diameter reduces weight and bulk while maintaining the strength and durability required for challenging ascent and descent operations.
Dura-Shield Explorer combines a Technora®/polyester sheath with a Dyneema®/polypropylene and staple-polyester core construction. The 32-carrier sheath provides excellent abrasion resistance, while the rope’s water-repellent characteristics and less than 1% elongation at 10% of minimum breaking strength provide efficient handling and load stability in demanding environments.
